We're Hoping to Adopt
Hi! We are Sarah and Jason. We live in New York City with our cat, next to a large, beautiful park full of playgrounds, wildlife, a carousel, and lots of space to run around. Our neighborhood, like much of New York, is very diverse, with people from many cultures. Nature is important to us and, during the warmer months, we try to be outside as much as possible. The beach is our special place and we go as often as we can during the summer. Coney Island is one of our favorite places! We also love to enjoy all of the culture and beauty New York has to offer. We’re always taking local adventures to new neighborhoods, concerts, parks, zoos, museums, etc.
When we leave NY, we like to travel. We have traveled together to Mexico, California, Washington DC, France, and Greece. This year we are planning a trip to Chicago for our friends’ wedding and we’re excited to explore that city.
Fun Fact: long before we met, on at least two occasions, we were in the same place at the same time in a completely different state from where we met!
Some of the people that make up our village (including one very important cat).
We both come from large extended families with strong bonds. We’re mixed race, with mixed cultures, with lots to celebrate. We’re excited to celebrate our child’s culture and heritage too.
Family is incredibly important to us. Our families live nearby and we look forward to spending lots of time together with our child who will be loved tremendously by their aunts and uncles, grandparents, and cousins.
We are so lucky to have a village of friends, both in NY and across the country. Our friends come from all races, ethnicities, and sexual orientations. They’re loving, open-minded, funny, generous, and they all want the very best for us. Some have kids, and are excited for a playmate, and some are excited to be the fun aunts and uncles who take our child on adventures.
Our friends and family are loud and fun people. Get togethers include dance parties and sing alongs, card games and cookouts, baseball games and picnics, and lots of food and laughter!
Fun Fact: Jason has known his brother-in-law longer than he’s known his own sister (who is married to the brother-in-law)! Their moms were pregnant together at the same time and they grew up together.
We’re so excited to hear from you. It’s difficult to share everything about our lives in just a few pages, but we hope something touches your heart and makes you want to reach out to us. We understand this may be a tough decision but want you to know that our hearts are open and full of love for a child of any gender or race. We’d be happy to answer any questions you have.
